Dane Dems

Constitution & Bylaws

The Constitution of the Democratic Party of Dane County is our governing document, along with the Constitution of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. To change the Constitution, amendments must pass at two meetings, and be approved the State Party Constitution Committee. The constitution cannot be suspended.

The Bylaws of the Democratic Party of Dane County also guide the party by describing the details and responsibilities of the party officers. Like the constitution, the Bylaws may not be suspended.

The Standing Rules of the Democratic Party of Dane County guide the procedures of the party. Unlike the Constitution and Bylaws, with supermajority (2/3rds) vote of the membership, the Standing Rules can be temporarily suspended.

For interested readers, here are the Constitution and Bylaws that were in force prior to 2007, and the Standing Rules prior to 2011.
