For Immediate Release
Dane County voters turned out in record numbers to support a strong and diverse slate of candidates to represent the Democratic Party on the ballot this November. The evening’s results included the historically significant victories of Samba Baldeh and Francesca Hong, who are poised to become the first Muslim American and Asian American ever elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly following the general election.
We congratulate last night’s winners and thank all of the candidates, campaign managers, organizers, and volunteers who worked tirelessly during this unprecedented and difficult time. These extraordinary efforts are a true testament to the strength of our community and the role it plays in the change we seek.
Now that the primary is over, we encourage our fellow Democrats to build on our momentum and put their full support, passion, energy, and commitment behind our phenomenal candidates in the general election. This election is the most important of our lifetime. Together we’re going to elect a slate of Democratic candidates that will fight for our values and enact real change, ensuring that our political system creates equal opportunities and justice for all Wisconsinites.
